Innovation in Talent Cultivation and Empowerment of Teachers’ Growth—Lanzhou University Teachers’ Teaching Development Center of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languages Branch Center Opening Ceremony Successfully Held

In order to promote the learning and implementation of the Theme Education of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to go practical and profound, comprehensively improve the quality of talent training, and promote the growth of teachers, solve problems and do practical things, the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess held an opening ceremony on the afternoon of May 25 for the Teacher Teaching Development Center of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess Branch Center of Lanzhou University. Han Wei, Director of the Center, Han Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess, Li Lifang, dean of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess, Yang Jianjun, vice dean of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess and more than 30 representatives of teachers attended the conference. The meeting was chaired by Li Lifang.

Yang Xubo, member of the Party Committee of the College and secretary of the Party Branch of Ancient Chinese Literature and Classical Philology, led the participants to study General Secretary Xi Jinpings important article "Comprehensively Implement New ideas, new strategies and new measures for talent work in the New Era" and deeply understand General Secretary Xi Jinpings important instructions for talent work in the new era. Participants focused on learning the fundamental guarantee, major strategy, goal direction, key tasks, important guarantee, basic requirements, social conditions, spiritual guidance and ideological guarantee of talent work.

Han Wei said that the establishment of a teaching development platform for teachers at the university and college levels, based on the teaching reality of colleges and disciplines as well as the development needs of teachers, can provide teachers with more targeted teaching services and support, create a cultural atmosphere for teachers to pursue excellence in teaching, and promote the substantial improvement of teachers teaching ability. It is hoped that the sub-center can play a leading role in demonstration to set up a model, link colleges and universities so as to have practical effects, build a platform and create a brand role, and build a platform to improve the ability of talent independent training and lead the personalized development of teachers.

Han Jie said that through this platform, the Party Committee of the college will further gather consensus, lead teachers and students to keep in mind the mission of establishing virtue and cultivating talents, enhance the spirit of doing practical things and entrepreneurship, gather a strong striving force, and open up new fields and new tracks for development. Han Wei and Li Lifang jointly unveiled the Teachers Teaching Development Center of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess branch center. Yang Jianjun briefly introduced the organization and work plan of the Teachers Teaching Development Branch center, and Han Wei and Han Jie presented the appointment letter for the teacher workshop leaders of the branch center.

In order to inherit the excellent teacher ethics and style of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess, the college has also equipped career development mentors for young teachers who have only joined the school in the last three years, and invited teachers representatives to share their teaching experience.

Four professors, including Min Chunfang, Wang Daqiao, Chen Xiaoqiang and Liu Wenjiang, shared their teaching experience over the years. Professor Wang Daqiao believes that we should fully enjoy the process of interacting with students and maintain the enthusiasm of daily teaching; Professor Chen Xiaoqiang said that it is necessary to recognize the mission and responsibility shouldered by teachers, and strive to do their best for the inheritance of education; Professor Liu Wenjiang believes that we should strive to learn teaching art, try our best to integrate personal style and teaching content, and make the platform full of vitality; Professor Min Chunfang believes that the older generation of educators have set an example in the intergenerational inheritance of the colleges cause, and the new generation of teachers should inherit the spirit and glorious tradition of the college, and strive to become FOUR GOOD TEACHERS with ideals and beliefs, moral sentiments, solid knowledge, and benevolence.

Zhang Chunyan, a representative of young teachers, believes that by participating in the activities organized by the college, she has a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of teaching culture, teaching design and teaching philosophy, and has a deeper understanding of personal career development. Ms. Yang Wenxiu said that as a young teacher, she should learn from senior teachers, consciously refine and sort out the methodology in the teaching process, and grow in thinking and learning.

Li Lifang summarized the meeting and said that the Chinese language discipline of Lanzhou University has a long history of 95 years, and we should carry forward the excellent tradition of teachers ethics, accompany students to grow up, and devote ourselves to teaching and educating people. Grow in inheritance, develop in innovation, based on the new era to create a new pattern of college talent training work.

Subsequently, the Teacher Teaching Development Center of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess Branch Center held the first teachers' workshop. Li Lifang guided the teachers of the College to plan their own teaching growth path from the aspects of classroom teaching, accumulation of teaching materials, participation in teaching competitions, application for teaching awards and so on, combining her experience of participating in the third Gansu Provincial College Teachers Teaching Innovation Competition. During the workshop discussion, the teachers said that they gained a lot from participating in this activity, and they should carefully improve their teaching ability in the future, and focus on the talent training of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languagess.
