In order to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, to promote the development of international Chinese language teachers and improve the quality of talent training, on March 18, the “New Era International Chinese Education Talent Training Summit Forum” and the “International Chinese Teacher Development Young Scholars Forum” jointly organized by East China Normal University, Lanzhou University, the World Chinese Teaching Association Teacher Development Professional Committee, and the National Language Committee’s Global Chinese Development Research Center were held at Lanzhou University. More than 80 experts and scholars from Fudan University, Nanjing University, East China Normal University, China International Testing Center, Beijing Language and Culture University, Shanghai University, Shanghai International Studies University, Lanzhou University of Technology, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Standards and Certification Working Committee of the World Association for Chinese Language Teaching, Lanzhou University and other institutions participated. Sha Yongzhong, Vice President of Lanzhou University, and Zhu Guohua, Dean of the School of International Chinese Language and Culture of East China Normal University and Director of the Professional Committee of Teacher Development of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, delivered speeches respectively. The opening ceremony of the forum was hosted by Li Lifang, Dean of the School of Literature of Lanzhou University.

Sha Yongzhong said that international Chinese education is a cause that closely serves the national strategy and is also a vibrant discipline. He hopes that the experts and scholars attending the conference will speak freely, exchange ideas, pool wisdom in running schools, express their insights on the development of international Chinese education, especially the construction of the international Chinese teaching staff, and jointly promote the development of international Chinese education.

Zhu Guohua said that East China Normal University and Lanzhou University have had in-depth cooperation in the fields of Chinese language and international Chinese education. This conference is a powerful measure for the two universities to deepen cooperation. Through the guidance of the summit forum and the establishment of the young scholars forum, the two universities will actively promote the training of international Chinese education talents and the growth of young teachers, and create the “Voice of the New Force of Chinese Education”.

During the whole-day meeting, the participating experts and young scholars discussed and exchanged views on the construction and development of the academic community of international Chinese language teachers, the professional development of international Chinese language teachers and the improvement of the quality of talent training in the new era, the construction of a high-quality international Chinese language education talent training system, and the enhancement of the capacity of young tutors of the professional degree of international Chinese language education, and so on.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and instructions on language and writing work and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to inherit and promote the excellent Chinese language and culture, to promote the high-quality development of language and writing in the new era, to comprehensively strengthen the party’s leadership and promote the construction of party organizations, to further enrich party building forms and build a party building co-construction platform to realize the sharing of high-quality resources,the Party Branch of the National Language Promotion Base (Lanzhou University) and the Party Branch of the Department of International Chinese Education, School of International Chinese and Culture of East China Normal University signed a memorandum of cooperation on party building during the meeting. According to the Memorandum of Cooperation, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the areas of sharing experience in party building, mutual promotion of organization construction, and exchange and interaction of party members.
