     "Chinese ancient literature involved medical culture" compilation series (the first series of 5 volumes)of the "Culture and the Chinese Classical Literature Research of Traditional Chinese Medicine"was published recently,which are supported by Central university special funding for basic scientific research project and"Double Top" construction fund project from lanzhou university,and are also the research achievements of the horizontal collaboration project of scientific research between Lanzhou university and Gansu university of traditional Chinese medicine.

    In order to supplement the deficiency of historical materials of traditional Chinese medicine and to provide support for literature research and broaden the research horizon, this series of books are divided into dynasties and collate the medical-related cultural documents in ancient Chinese literature in a specific period. This series of books covers poetry, Ci, Fu, notes, prose, drama, novels and other Chinese traditional literary styles. Its content mainly involves the literature of medicine on politics, medicine on military, medicine on the world, medicine on theory, medicine on things. And the literatures related to doctors, patients, magic drugs, prescriptions and diseases also included. Moreover, it contains the literary works written by doctors. Finally, documents concerned with life, specifically including the extension and development of human physiological constitution and the documents paying attention to life conservation are also the focus of the study. 

    Elements contained in the ancient literature of Chinese medicine, the teachers of the law theory of medicine, medical writing, all of which not only expand the literary field of vision, deepen and expand the connotation and extension of the work itself, also enable the thinking mode of literary creation and artistic method to sublimation.Therefore compiling the important communications between medical and cultural phenomena in the historical data not only provide important historical materials for the study of traditional Chinese medicine culture, but also helpful to better understand all kinds of literary phenomena and literary essence, and reflect their historical data value, academic value, cultural inheritance value, medical humanistic value and other multiple values.  

    The authors of this series are composed of researchers from the Institute of Ancient Literature and Classical Literature, College of Literature, Lanzhou University, chief physicians, professors, doctoral supervisors of Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Changjiang Scholars and famous Traditional Chinese doctors in Gansu Province. The Institute of Ancient Literature and Classical Literature of Lanzhou University has a long and excellent academic tradition and has made outstanding contributions to the teaching and research of ancient literature and classical literature. The research institute pays attention to the comprehensive research of ancient Chinese literature from multiple angles, deep level and all-round from the perspective of grand culture, and gradually forms the research characteristics of regional culture, traditional culture and traditional Chinese medicine culture as the breakthrough point. The medical team composed of chief physicians and professors from Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, led by Zhang Zhiming, gave a strong guarantee in the professional for this series of books to the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine culture to sort out the ancient Chinese literature related to medical culture literature .  

    This series of books is the first time to systematically and thoroughly collate and study the medical literature related to Chinese history literature. The publication of this series not only provides a full and reliable documentary basis for the study of traditional Chinese medicine, ancient Chinese literature and traditional Chinese culture, but also plays a role in inheriting and developing traditional Chinese medicine and carrying forward excellent traditional Chinese culture.
