Teachers and Students of the School of Chinese Literatures and Languages Achieved Remarkable Results in the Second National International Chinese Language Teaching Skills Competition

From June 1st to 2nd, the Second National International Chinese Language Education and Teaching Skills Competition was held in Xian, Shanxi Province. The team of masters degree candidates in International Chinese Education from Lanzhou University participated in the competition and won multiple awards.

The competition was divided into three tracks for undergraduates, graduate students, and international students, with over 390 contestants from 116 universities across the country participating. After intense competition, Ren Tingting from the School of Chinese Literatures and Languages of Lanzhou University won the second prize in the graduate student category, Yu Fan won the award for excellence in the same category, and Aya from Egypt and Pan Bolu from Vietnam won the award for excellence in the international student category. Teachers Deng Wenjing and Zeng Fang won the awards for Outstanding Instructor and Excellent Instructor respectively. Lanzhou University also received the "Excellent Organization Award".

The competition consisted of four rounds: lesson presentation, teaching demonstration, Chinese and English question-and-answer sessions, and Chinese talent displays. These rounds comprehensively assessed the contestantsknowledge of Chinese language, teaching design abilities, classroom organization skills, bilingual communication skills, and levels of Chinese talent. During the competition, the four students demonstrated their excellent professional qualities and good mental attitudes. Their courseware was cleverly designed, their language expressions were accurate, their teaching steps were clear, their teaching methods were flexible, and their talent performances were confident and graceful.

This competition was a nationwide event held to meet the development requirements of the International Chinese Education major against the backdrop of the new liberal arts discipline. Outstanding students from universities such as East China Normal University, Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, Northeast Normal University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Yunnan University gathered together to compete, learn from each other, and share experiences. By participating, the students improved their teaching skills, deepened their professional understanding, and gained more confidence in their major. Ren Tingting said, It is a great treasure for me to communicate with so many excellent students and hear the evaluations and suggestions from professors. I will unwaveringly continue on the path of international Chinese education in the future. Yu Fan added, Preparing lessons requires careful design of both teaching content and methods. The competition made me experience the challenges and joys of teaching. Aya said, The competition not only enhances individual teaching skills but also strengthens teamwork spirit and professional ethics. I gained a lot from participating. Pan Bolu expressed, Through the competition, I recognized my shortcomings. I will continue to work hard in the future to improve my Chinese proficiency, research teaching methods, and maintain a good teaching mindset, aiming to become an excellent Chinese teacher.

The School of Chinese Literatures and Languages of Lanzhou University attaches great importance to various teaching and practical activities.
