In order to let the doctoral students learn about the new policies and regulations of the school's graduate training and the implementation rules of the school's doctoral training,further strengthen the management of graduate education,and improve the quality of postgraduate training,School of Arts held a seminar on doctoral training on the afternoon of March 30th in the meeting room 102 , Yifu liberal arts building, Lanzhou University.Young teachers Wu Shiqi and Yang Ruifeng, and postdocs Yuan Fangyu and Chen Botong shared their doctoral experience.The seminar was hosted by Guo Maoquan, vice dean of the School of Arts.
Guo Maoquan conveyed the new spirit of the state and the university in the management of graduate education,publicized the Regulations on the Training of Academic Degree Postgraduates of Lanzhou University,introduced the new regulations of the school,New Measures and the Awarding Standards for Doctoral and Master Degrees of First-level Disciplines of Chinese Language and Literature of Lanzhou University under the Revision of the College.Ideological and political education, course study, process management, qualification examination, mid-term examination, academic discussion, academic exchange and innovative achievement requirements are explained.In addition, he also expressed his own ideas about the doctoral forum and youth academic salon held in this semester.
In the exchange of experience,Wu Shiqi from the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Yang Ruifeng from the Institute of the Theory of Literature and Art, Yuan Fangyu from the Institute of Ancient Chinese Literature and Classical Philology, and Chen Botong from the Institute of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature exchanged their doctoral experience.The four teachers focused on their own doctoral studies, shared and communicated with students about the topics of course learning, academic paper writing and publication, dissertation writing and defense, emotional adjustment and physical exercise.In addition,they shared their experience about how to read Chinese and foreign classics, how to determine a valuable topic selection, how to improve the academic paper, how to choose the journal to contribute, how to deal with the relationship between small papers and large papers, how to participate in the tutor's project, how to participate in academic activities and other experiences,which benefit students a lot.
The participating doctoral students expressed their opinions and spoke freely.The representatives of PhD students in each institute also expressed their difficulties in their majors and hoped that the school could provide relevant help and support.Guo Maoquan, the vice dean, collected and sorted out the suggestions of the attending doctoral students, and expressed the expectations of the leaders and tutors of the school.
This seminar helped PhD students to learn more about the school and its training initiatives,and it is helpful for doctoral students to reasonably plan their professional study and academic research.Through the exchange of experience with the young teachers of various professions and postdocs in the station,doctoral students have a more comprehensive understanding of course learning, research objectives and academic methods during their studies.
